Hemmagastronomi was designated Best Restaurant in Norrbotten by White Guide.
Well-known chef Simon Laiti is the restaurant's founder-owner.
Hemmagastronomi opened in 2008 as a culinary studio, Norrbotten's first and one of just a few in Sweden at that time. Under Simon Laiti's guidance, guests learned to prepare gourmet cuisine at the studio. Later, with the addition of a specialty foods shop, studio guests gained access to the kind of ingredients that are used by professional chefs.
Although Hemmagastronomi changed direction in the summer of 2013, the culinary studio lives on. With the new food-bar concept, the restaurant now serves well-prepared dishes all day long – breakfast, lunch and dinner. A bakery has also been added. The culinary philosophy remains unchanged – local produce, high quality and small-scale production, and Hemmagastronomi continues to infuse every dish with the same passion as ever. Hemmagastronomi has helped to place Luleå on the culinary map.
