Children's show: Biejvve bájttá – Solen skiner

In a magical musical theatre, children will meet the Sami and their land Sápmi. Welcome to the hut where we will go on a journey of discovery together with the help of the world of fairy tales. The Sami creation story and the mysterious heartbeats show the way in the land where the sun shines at night.

When the fire burns, we will meet the reindeer Biello, the reindeer herder Nils Henrik and Elsa who stood barefoot in the cold spring. Magpie, Hare and Biernna – the bear will also visit and we will learn to yoik - the Sami way of singing. Come along!

Biejvve bájttá - The Sun is Shining is an interactive performance where children will have the opportunity to take part in the indigenous Sami people. We will learn some Lule Sami words, yoik and experience the Sami culture. The performance also wants to convey the deep, respectful relationship with nature and all living things that the Sami tradition carries.

The performance is accompanied by discussion material and the yoikers that you at preschool and school can work on further, as well as for the library's selection.

Elin Teilus is an artist, singer, yoiker and actress. She herself is Sami with her roots in the forest Sami Udtja.
