ABOUT THE FILM
Set in modern-day Tokyo, the film follows an American actor (Brendan Fraser) who struggles to find purpose until he lands an unusual job: working for a Japanese “rental family” agency, where he plays stand‑in roles for strangers. As he becomes immersed in his clients’ worlds, he begins forming genuine bonds that blur the line between performance and reality. Facing the moral complexities of the work, he gradually rediscovers meaning, belonging, and the quiet beauty of human connection.
The film stars Academy Award® and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Brendan Fraser (The Whale, The Mummy, Encino Man), alongside Emmy®‑nominated Takehiro Hira (Shogun), Mari Yamamoto (Pachinko, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters), Akira Emoto (Lovers Lost, Shin Godzilla, Dr. Akagi), and newcomer Shannon Gorman.
