Discover Luleå in a new way! Learn more about Luleå city in our Winter Challenge, a fun digital competition where you test your knowledge of the city - and at the same time learn even more about our history and culture in the city center. Perfect for both Luleå residents and visitors who want to get to know Luleå a little more!

Here's how it works:
The competition is conducted as a quiz walk with digital checkpoints and you need a smartphone and mobile data (data roaming) turned on to participate. You start from the link below and then walk around the city center via 9 different digital checkpoints where you are asked questions about each location. First control is next to the iconic crane at Södra hamnplan (South bay). The application will guide you where the next checkpoint is located. You need to be physically at the location of each checkpoint to be able to answer each question and move on to the next.

After the last question, you will be asked if you want to participate in the raffle and you will proceed to a web form where you submit your contact information.

We need your contact details to notify you of any winnings. The entire route is about 2.5 km long and takes about 45-60 minutes to complete. But no hurry take your time needed. In return, you get exercise, fresh air and new knowledge about Luleå!

Win a nice Luleå backpack and picnic kit!
Spending time outdoors and also eating outdoors even in winter is part of our local lifestyle. In this Winter challenge you can win a nice kit with Luleå branded backpack and items for a winter picnic. Bring your friend, fill the backpack, grab a borrow kicksled and head out on the popular Luleå ice track for the nearest shelter with a fireplace. Or take the bus to one of Luleå's beautiful nature reserves.

1st prize
Luleå outdoor kit for 2 people including 1 Craft backpack, 1 thermos, 2 water bottles, 2 seat cushions, 2 telescopic grill sticks, 2 soup bowls, 2 mugs, 2 sporks, 2 tube scarves, 1 firesteel. Prize value 3200 SEK.

2nd prize
1 Luleå hat patterned, different colors and patterns. Prize value 299 SEK.

3rd prize
1 Luleå hat solid with embroidered badge, yellow, orange or black. Prize value 229 SEK.

Competition rules:
The Winter challenge runs from Friday February 20 to Sunday March 1. In order to win, you need to be reachable via email or phone in connection with the winner drawing which takes place on Monday March 4. Winners will be notified via email and text message on March 5 and via Visit Luleå's social media channels. Please note that you must be able to collect your prize yourself upon presentation of the prize notification at Luleå Tourist center in Kulturens Hus latest March 30, 2026. 

The competition is run by Visit Luleå / Näringslivskontoret in cooperation with Luleå Tourist center at Luleå Municipality and employees or their family members are unfortunately unable to participate in the raffle.
