How to get to Luleå
Fly
The best choice for faraway visitors is to fly, Luleå is one of the most easily accessible cities in Sweden. It takes just 75 minutes to fly from Stockholm-Arlanda to Luleå Airport. Going from the airport to the city centre takes just 10-15 minutes.
Take the train
Every night trains to Luleå Central Station depart from Stockholm and Gothenburg. Travelling by train is the more affordable option, with a good level of comfort. The train station is located near the city centre and it takes no more than a few minutes to walk to central Luleå. Book your tickets via either Vy or SJ.
Hop on the bus
From the bus station you can travel all over Norrbotten County and Swedish Lapland – and back to Luleå. Every day, several buses depart here, taking you to our neighbouring cities along the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia.
Roadtrip
The E4 motorway, starts down south in Helsingborg, Skåne, and passes just outside Luleå. The E4 stretches from Haparanda on the Finnish border, down along the coast right to Stockholm, continuing inland through southern Sweden, to Helsingborg. If you are travelling north by car with Luleå as your destination, this is the best and easiest route to take. Just follow the signs for Luleå and you will have no problem finding your way here.
