Bothniasalong 2024
The Bothnia salon is a juried art salon that takes place in five locations in two regions during the summer of 2024! It focuses on artistry in Norr- and Västerbotten, where connection to or feeling for both regions is in focus.
Art salons have a democratic and significant function where everyone, established as well as non-established, is given the opportunity to participate in the public dialogue that art life contributes to. It is also an exciting complement to the regular exhibition activities because it opens up for spontaneous and unexpected meetings. Through cooperation between the two regions, five interesting exhibitions are created during the summer. The exhibition is shown in the Konsthallen in Luleå, Ájtte in Jokkmokk, Gällivare Kulturmuseum, Västerbotten museum in Umeå and Skellefteå art gallery c/o Nordanå exhibition room.
The theme is free and so are the techniques and expressions. The applicants and accepted must have a connection or in some way express their feeling for Norr- and/or Västerbotten. An independent jury consisting of a professionally active artist, a gallerist and an art curator from an established Swedish art museum assesses the submitted works of art.
Anyone over the age of 18 can apply to the jury-judged salon. The last day for applications is March 11, 2024. Read more about how the applying here.
