The app that marks the beginning of a journey in Gammelstad's history is finally here. It is developed by Luleå municipality and offers everything between themed walks and audioguides to children's quizzes and a map of the area.

– The app Visit Gammelstad is dedicated to both Luleå's residents and its visitors. For example, you can go on a meditative reflection walk among the church cottages or learn more about preservation of the church town, says Jennifer Johansson, coordinator at Luleå municipality.

Guided tours for children

Children can also experience Gammelstad and the open-air museum Hägnan with a new perspective trough the app. They will follow the fictional family, Gammelstadsson's, in an exciting audioguide adventure, where the mouse boy, Musse, will lead the way. The adventure begins at Hägnan and guides the children to the church town, where they get to solve tasks, answer questions and learn more about how life used to be.

– We will develop new material for the app continuously with big focus on the youngest visitiors, says Jennifer Johansson.

Multiple languages

Both Gammelstad church town and the Open-air museum Hägnan are included in the app. All material is available in both Swedish and English. Some material will be available in additional languages.
