The church town of Gammelstad has been on UNESCO's World Heritage List of places worth preserving since 1996. This was the original center of Luleå until 1649. The area with over 400 church cottages is lovely to stroll around on a summer day.

A favorite island among the locals of Luleå. Here, you can experience most of the different natural landscapes the archipelago has to offer.

Get around on two wheels!
If you’re into mountain biking, head to Ormberget, where marked trails lead you out into the terrain. Choose from routes of varying lengths and difficulty levels. The tracks offer a mix of gravel roads, exercise trails, and forest paths. There’s even a downhill course. At the top of the Ormberget slope, you’ll also find a lunch restaurant.
Evening cruise with Shrimp Buffet
Enjoy shrimp and live troubadour music during a three-hour evening cruise through Luleå’s beautiful archipelago. The captain of Laponia Rederi always chooses a route suited to the weather and wind conditions. Shrimp cruises run throughout the season, from June to the end of September.
Play golf 24/7!
Luleå is home to Sweden’s northernmost 27-hole golf course – and it’s likely one of the courses with the best lighting conditions in the world. Thanks to the midnight light in Luleå, you can even play a round in the middle of the night. All necessary equipment, including golf carts, is available for rent on site.
